"When we saw these rusty pick-up trucks, just off route 66 in Arizona, we knew we were on a winner. We had always planned to return to Macksville and open a pizza shop and now, in the middle of nowhere USA, we had found its name - Rusty's Pizza."
The Craven's are not new to Macksville, many of you may already know them. Simon, Kristine & their 3 girls are the previous owners of the popular Beehive Cafe and have been contributing to the community now for many years. Like all hard working small business owners there comes a time when you need a break and in early 2014 The Cravens closed up shop, packed their bags and left for a holiday of a lifetime. During their American adventure, driving a 32 foot motor home from the Grand Canyon to Flagstaff in Arizona, they pulled off the highway for fuel. Simon noticed a pair of really old cars rusting away on the hard court of the service station… so while Simon was fueling up, Kristine started taking photos. "The original plan was to return to Macksville and open as Beehive Pizza, but seeing those trucks, it was a sign!" Rusty's Pizza opened on the 1st of July 2014, and has grown to be just as popular if not more than the Craven's previous cafe. Simon & Kristine are meticulous in their systems and pride themselves on quality ingredients, service and great value. The Craven's go out of their way to involve the community in the growth of their business and are always open to suggestions and feedback on how they can improve their service. With new menu items, regular meal deals and specials available year round, next time you have a craven for pizza, remember Rusty's Pizza!
